A kindly sole who goes by the name of Bubble Boy sent me an email today saying he'd seen our site in the Australian Net Directory magazine, so I hot footed it down to the newsagents and found it. What a spin out! Here's the review:

Evil Empire
http://evem.haymarket.com.au
If hideous laughing skulls and mortals melting in lava create beautiful images in your mind, then you'll get a special kick out of the Evil Empire site. Home for a badass Quake 2 clan from Perth (where there seem to be more ISPs per ehad of population than anywhere else) this is an impressive news site and campaign-snapshot gallery packed with personality and clever presentation. Where other clan sites are cloaked in chunky graphics and braggadocio, the Evil Empire site is - dare i say it - refined. These seem like reasonable human beings...until they smoke you. Be sure to check out the screenshot galleries.
Verdict: Professional geeks taking a blood bath together.

There's also a 1/4 page screenshot of Rebem taken from the site. This one:
With the caption: "The Evil Empire captures the flag."
Funnily enough this is the second time that rebem has had his quake self in print. The first time was in an issue of Liesure Line, the game machine industry magazine produced by Liesure and Allied Industries. Haymarket (where I work) design and print the magazine. For one issue the dead line was drawing near and we needed a screenshot of a PC game for an article QUICK! Of course our first instinct was: go to the EvEm site and get a screenshot. So we did and grabbed one of Rebem fragging another player. Fun fun fun.
COMING SOON: a scan of the page so you's'll all believe me!
HERE IT IS!!!!

...and hats off to Clan Offal who also made it into the magazine. Their logo was even used in the contents page as the icon for the "Game Clans" seciton. Cool !
