Xtros Guide to weapon tactics

Some stategies I use in CTF

This guide mainly revolves around a trick I call "Rocket Spinning" although there's variations for other weapons. Read on...

1. When going for the flag or away with it try this:
When passing an enemy on the way in or out flick the mouse in their direction and click the fire button, then resume your course. It's important that you do not turn and do not watch to see where the rocket went. The most important thing is to reach your goal, either the flag or your base. I've used this trick to great effect and usually get a few frags doing it. You get better aim the more you try it and the enemy is usually caught by surprise, the most rewarding use of this tactic is if the enemy is above you to the left or right because they're usually thinking they're safe up there in their little hidey hole. A quick flick of the mouse up and to the left or right and release a rocket will solve that problem.
It works equally well with the grenade launcher although with reduced accuracy.
Other weapons are useful too but less effective:
The both shot guns work well because they can deliver a concentrated shot;
The machine gun and chaingun are not so useful here;
and neither is the hyperblaster or blaster;
and the BFG is too slow!

Try these other strategies if being chased:
2. spin around, move your finger from the forward to the backward key, release a volley of fire, then spin back and move your finger back to the forward key. This way you loose no directional momentum but can surprise the fuck out of the guys chasing you!

3. after going around the corner do the above but pause before firing. Often you'll get them just as they're coming around the corner. This has always worked well for me.

There you go, hope they work well for you too. I'll think of a few more and post them here. Mail me if you have any comments or suggestions.
