This aint rocket science, but it's a handy hint anyway. When 3.17 was released I noticed that the id servers were completely maxed out connection-wise. Planetquake was much the same, but these two sites aren't set up for millions of downloads per minute, they're more for heavy browser use. So, what I did was give cdrom.com a try. I always find their web site pretty crappy so I used the ftp site (ftp://ftp.cdrom.com). Well, guess what??? No problems AT ALL!!! To give it a try, you'll find the Quake2 directory Here. |
