Hey am I the only one who's been thinking about reinstaling Quake and QW just to check it out again? Here's an article Thresh wrote on the subject and I think, although I agree with him, I've enjoyed Q2CTF a LOT more than I did Q1CTF. But there's something about the action in Quake compared to Quake2, that Thresh touches on here, that might drive me to reinstall. See what you think.

Here's some highlights:
"Quake was clearly the more advanced game at the time, whereas now, Quake II almost seems to have taken a step backward. "
"At first, you notice the purty graphics, cool effects, and colors… but the initial awe only lasts so long. All we really want is a game that is fun to play"
"The second thing you notice, especially if you are a Quake player, is the control lag."
"Then there's the player movement speeds. The players in QII move relatively slow "
