The alpha leak rocks, got it going at 95 FPS at 1024 x 768, which is good for an alpha. there is no proof that ATi leaked it, so chill the fuck out people.

John Carmack publicly stated that ATI leaked the alpha, ATI also leaked some Unreal stuff as well.

i have doom 3 alpha that i got from kazaa. Its only 300 and something megs when its not extracted. I have an AMD 1.4 ghrz processor 1GB of RAM and a 64 MB radeon 3d card. This Game Looks Cool on my dad's system.. And he was kinda freaked that i found the game b4 he did.. But, it looks awsome! (Cheats dont work -- like God = Godmode -- Give all = Give all -- Etc..) And the railgun dosent show, so dont try the give all command..

i heard that there is a section of the config file that lets you select your rendering engine. I think i heard the default was acctully like software, and that's why everyone was getting low fps.

Hey guys, I got an INTEL P4 2.4 GHZ,512 MB DDR & I bought an ATI RADEON 9000 PRO 128 MB and i downloaded directX 9.0 & latest CATALYST 3.2 drives. I was playing DOOM III ALPHA and i got 13 to 25 fps when walking, 10 to 8 fps when shooting & when there is a monster comes i get 5 to 7 fps on maximum quality with shadows on & 640X480 resolution. game rocks on my PC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here's some bits that I did on downloading and installing doom 3:

1. Downloaded doom3 alpha demo leak from KaZaA for around 2 days all day open. Luckily, I finished the download.

2. Opened the file but didnt work. A black screen comes up but thats the end of it, stays for a split second and goes.

3. Searched the fuckin internet for help, found a few sayin' ''...it is not a EXE file yet a RAR file''.

4. Downloaded WinRAR, opened the file and..alas... a new hope for the desiring jedi cunt.

5. Extracted the files and shit like that.

6. Double clicked the Doom icon and all I get is the fuckin grey screen of doom.

7.Search the fuckin internet again about the problem. Found out that I had to delete the doomconfig.cfg file and fix the corrupt files (List the names of the corrupt files during extraction of winRAR, copy some file of the same extension, put in desktop or any different folder, rename file as the same corrupt file and place it where it's supposed to be [winRAR will tell you the directory of the corrupt file]).

8. Opened the game again but still, the grey screen, but now in full screen mode.

9. What the fuck should I do now?
Anyone? Thanx. Would give £10 gajillion barillion to anyone who would help me.

Okay so what could GL_SelectTexture mean?? For all the comp smarts here you guys know those cfg files... what is GL_SelectTexture?

That's one problem, another problem may be loading the menu... if you notice in base/menu/demo there is only one file... and it's a pic of a black dot.... so how is the game supposed to load the menu with a pic of a black dot? For the people who ave the game working, how many files do you guys have in the Menu/Demo folder?

Grey screen problem - you all need to get a program which emulates NV32. It's tiny and you can get i from the nvidia site - i got the link from another forum but cant remember where. I used to have the grey screen, got this and now the game works fine.

if you go start->run->cmd and run it directly from there, it says "program too big to fit in memory"

so open up winrar, then open up the file in there, because it's a self-extracting rar file that (i guess) is too big to self-extract

Hi, about the grey screen, you have to use older detonator files. I think 3.34 or something like that.

Ok now I read this and see all you people suffering about doom 3 leaked. Now to get the demo get on kazaa or one of your p2p sharing utilities and dl doom3-alpha-leaked.exe or something close to it. Its about 370 some odd megs. After you dl it you need winRAR to open it. Extract it and go back on your kazaa or whatever and dl the doom III alpha FIX!!!! Thats about 3.7 megs. Overwrite you doom3 folder with that patch. And one more dl the doom III e3 patch or something, thats pretty small. Install that and patch doom 3 and click on the Doom3.exe and you should be good to go. And also if you have Quake 3. You can make a config file that you can use for doom 3. Go into quake 3 and put it on the lowest settings desirable and then save it andexit the game. Go into your Quake3/baseq3 folder theres a config called q3config.cfg. Take that and rename it to doomconfig.cfg and put it in your doom3/base folder and you should be better to go. Also for 5.1 EAX sound type in console s_numberofspeakers "6" and for better framerate type r_shadows "0" . Some other stuff also like for mouse sensitivity type sensitivity, cvarlist to bring up a list of all you can change and tweak. r_mode for resolution. Theres a lot you can sort through but if you have quake 3 or can get a config file at the lowest settings then the game should run fine... One last thing You need a good video card even at lowest settings. Now you should be GREAT to go.

i have nv11..just tell u ppl. where able to play d3 in which os..is it windows xp or windows 98...since my friend says that d3 is not compatible with xp due to some resolution prob..i use xp and not able to run it..he has ti4200 and he was not able to play it on xp but was able to play it on 98...i am not sure about it..may be u geekz can help me..peace..thanks

i've downloaded doom 3, but some files were corrrrupt, so it would'nt work, i'm now downloading Doom_iii.rar:372mb , and the Alpha FIX:3,7mb from Kazza *lite* (cuz i hate spyware).......

the last doom i downloaded didnt work, it was a grey screen and when i moved the mouse it started to do some crasy shit.....(it's corrrrupt) i did the Delete thing you said, but it didn't work on the corrrrupt version, but is the MB right on the Files im downloading

For anyone having problems with GREY SCREEN! I had the same problem and fixed it. All you have to do is get the odler detonator drivers 41.09. Uninstall your current drivers first, then install the old detonator drivers. BAM !!! doom 3 should be up and running. If you go to the Nvidia web page they should be avaible there, you have to use the search option. If you can't find them there just search the web and they'll be available. Best of luck .
By the way this game f*ckn Rocks, turn off the lights, turn up the sound and this game has some scary shit!! LOOKs awsome on my pc at1024x768!!!

fuck this shit, anything undre the newer drivers just fuck my vid card up. I have a fx 5200 256 mb, and older drivers just wont work. And i still try d3 even tho my comp says no drivers installed and i see my mouse and a black screen and that is all :\ this blows!!!!

Hi, about the grey screen shit. All you need to do is to install install the 44 drivers (because with the 45 Doom III doesn't work) and thats it.
I have an AMD athlon xp 2400
GeForce FX 5200
250 ddr
and doom III runs at 23 fps without shadows!!!

STEP BY STEP HOW TO RUN DOOM III:
-------------------------------------

1) First of all, you will have to get doom, its about 372 mb, you can get it from kazaa or emule (Dont worry if its an .exe file, just rename it to .rar) When u unrar it there will be 3 corrupted files but that doesnt matter by now

2) once you get it you will have to download the "Doom 3 alpha leak" or something like that, there are a lot of versions of that file, 3.7 2.2 4.0 etc...

3) Once you get all the files you will have to roll back your drivers if you have 45 installed, (44 41 etc are OK).

4) Once you roll back your drivers you must create some files: (The one corrupted on the instalation)

Doom_III\base\textures\object\conpanel2_local.tga

Doom_III\base\sound\nin\monsters\zombie_fat1\zom_fat1_pain_1.wav

Doom_III\base\sound\nin\intro\intro_5_1.LFE.wav

5)After that (If you wanna a better performance) open the sound recorder and open the following files, then save them at 44100 kHz because they are at 22050 kHz, if you dont do this the leak will stop in a moment:

Sounds\Quake 3\wgrnimpd.wav
Sounds\Quake 3\Grelb1b.wav
Sounds\Quake 3\Wgrnimpd.wav
Sounds\Weapons\Rocket\rocklf1.wav

6) Finally you will have to copy the lights\flashlight2.tga and paste it twice the same folder but instead of 2 you put 1 and 3.

7)Well I think its time to run Doom III alpha Leak! But it recently starts, now you will have to tweak your doom 3. Open Doom 3 with "With intro" icon, then there will be an intro with no sound with ID's logo, press Esc and a main menu screen will appear, once there press ~to Down the console:

*) The leak consist on 3 different levels, if you wanna choose them type the following:
map e3\e3_1 (For first level)
map e3\e3_2 (For second level)
map e3\e3_3 (For third level)

*)Once you are on fisrt level, after typing map e3\e3_1 on the console in the main menu, down the console again by pressing ~ and type:

com_drawfps 1 (Draw FPS (obvious))

Seta R_varmegs x (x is the number of ram that you want Doom 3 to run with)

seta r_usestandardgl 1

seta r_shadows 0 (Adds 15 fps to the game)

image_anisotropy 0 (adds a bit of fps)

8) Cheats: Type them at the console:

I get like 23-30 fps through all gameplay.
won't play with the new detonator drivers but works good with 44.03. Also without the 1.2 fix i found online the game has major shadow issues and is very slow. only 5-11 fps. hopefully the full game will five my fx closer to 60 or 70 fps. also has any one noticed a fps cap at 60fps? my card will not go above that mark?

There's a Doom III very fixed on sharereactor.com , you will need emule to doenload it, it's about 360 mb. Otherwise u can download it from kazaa, it's 372 mb, you will also need to download the doom3 alpha fix or something like that, (from 2 to 4mb).

I like Max Payne 2 and Halo equal. But, Why halo is slower than Max Payne, at least on my PC.
Im playing MP2 with the highest graphics, aa x2, and it's excelent; I'm playing Halo almost with medium graphics at 800 x 600 and it's quite slow in some moments though. I think halo has some errors and thats why its so slow in some machines, but max payne 2 has no errors, or at least it seems, and thats why its so fast.

I have a dell 2.0Ghz with 768Megs of ram and a Matrox Parhilia 128 grafix card. I changed a few thing in the doomconfig.cfg and i am now getting a steady 15 to 20 FPS in game play and 30 to 50FPS with no action

You can increase you FPS by changing the doomconfig file for example!
open the doom config file using wordpad and edit this line (seta r_varmegs "92") to what ever half youre RAM is. example (seta r_varmegs "256" this allows the game to use more memory.

u can also do that on the console

I was able to run DOOM III under Linux using Wine (WINdows Emulator)! Not only it ran, but it also was twice as fast!!! I had 15-30 fps on MUSTDIE, and 30-50 on Linux! Thank God, Linux exists...

Doom 3 also work with 44.5 drivers. But does it worth installing it? My answer is.. NO. Doom 3 sucks very hard, Doom I is better than that "Game", lol. Wait for it to come out legally, because it has a lot of errors now a days... I recomend NFS UG, (U can find it at www.suprnova.org [also doom 3])... I'm PeTaR... the one sent by G0D..,{{La suerte esta echada...}}

Of course it has bugs! that shouldn't be a reason not to have fun and experament with it! I am annoyed by these people who say "just wait for the full release". You can't sit there and tell me you were not thrilled when you found out you would be able to get a taste of IDs next gen fps. I think its incredbly fun to fool around with the alpha. And to all those people, SCREW YOU!

main menu: 60 fps
loading screen: 60 fps
in-game while standing: 36-60 fps
in-game action/shooting: 18-40 fps
in-game "bathroom-scene": 14-30 fps
in-game recording with fraps: 8-30 fps
*NOTE: Im using highest settings (default) like: dynamic lighting ect. NOTE*

tips:
-Win XP uses a lot of memory, try Win 98.
-Dont use too big resolution.
-If game is running very good on your machine, let
the game scare you, dont be too careful and dont move slowly, its fun :)

And a 512 DDR 400 Mhz and DOOM 3 Runs at 78 FPS at 1280 x 1024 32 and all textures and shaders i got photos i love that game...........!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've got an GeForce FX 5200 ultra on a amd athlon-xp 2400+ with 256 ddr 400 and doom III runs at 5-10 fps with monsters and less than 30 fps without them... and the GeForce 3 Ti is 2 times better than that ugly geforce 4 (mx) lol!!!!, if doom 3 doesnt run on ur pc just say it, but dont lie like that...jajaja
