Engineers
Engineer is a favourite of mine because you can use stealth and tactics to get the job done. Don't be fooled by his dorky exterior, the engineer can be lethal. :>
Firstly, try some sabotage.
Sneak into the enemy camp and place mines on vehicles. Some of them will sink, which is a dead giveaway but a nice green tank makes a great target. Forget placing mines all around the tank hoping to cover every direction.
One on the top will do the trick! Enemy gets in, moves forward and BOOM.
Another fantastic place for mines is in the repair station. Yes in it. Drop one on the grate and it falls underneath where you can't see it. Enemy tank trundles up hoping for some repairs and instead he gets blown to smithereens! Woohoo!!!
OK, enough skulking in the shadows, its time for some combat.
Engineer vs oncoming jeep - run backwards and drop a mine. I've survived a potential hit and run by doing this. Even at close range the explosion doesn't kill you if you're not already hurt. Of course, jeep wreckage in the face is not something you're likely to get up from. Fortunately, the jeep will usually get thrown off course by the explosion.
Engineer vs tank - jump on top of it, drop a mine on it and run. Yeah, that's right, we're not afraid of you tank pansies any more!!! If you can get close enough to do this, ride it like an angry bull while he tries to shoot you. Usually he is moving about trying to get rid of you and that's when the mine does its job. If the tank remains stationery, jump off and stay close in an attempt to get him to move. Maybe even drop to the ground for a bit. This is no sure thing but when you're confronted by an angry tank it sure beats trying to drop enough dynamite and make it to a safe distance for detonation.
Comments
You often find them on island maps. Look for the spawn points on the ships at the start of the map. If you see a ship with only one spawn point that's the sub. Be careful though I've chosen to spawn there many times when someone else got there first. There's nowhere to go when they submerge :)

wuts the deal with the "hit but no pain", blood comes out but the enemy doesn't flintch and it PISSES ME OFF!!!! i hit him 3 times with mah rifle but it does no damage, he its me and it lyk......GOD DAMNIT!!!! is this a patch problem or wut?

where the fuck is the sub? some1 said look for the ship with 1 spawn point. I played midway 50 times and there IS NO 1 spawn point ship. Xtro posted 'If you see a ship with only one spawn point, thats the sub.' It sounds like he found the sub. So tell me, what EXACTLY did u do to get the sub???
There is no sub when you play against bots on Midway or presumably anywhere. When you play online, there also are subs (never more than 1 on each side) at Guadacanal. Subs suck anyway.
Yeah, i have done a thourough search of the game for subs and bombers in bot mode. There are no subs period, unless you are playing multi-player, and there is only 1 bomber: on the british airfield at El Alemein. When it is a multi=player game, bombers appear onb many maps, including bocage, and subs are in the midway and guadalcanal maps. By the way, how is Secret Weapons of WWII expansion pack?

Secret Weapons is pretty cool. There are several pretty good new weapons, such as the new German sniper rifle. The new planes however are pretty hard to control.
The maps are much better, with more vehicles, and less terrain to cover by foot (much better than in some of the desert maps in BF1942 itself).
Definitely an add-on you want to buy.
Can someone tell me how you can sink ships with the coastal guns? I keep shooting at ships near the coast, but never seem to hit anything.

If anybody wants to know a cheat for invinsability press ~ during a game to get a console then you type aiCheats.code Tobias.Karlsson then press enter. its funny cause you fly into tanks with a plane and the blow up!
Everytime I torpedo a destroyer with a SBD-T It always go's unber the ship.How do you get it to hit?

To hit a ship with a torpedo, you have to fly close to the water, then drop the torpedo, then pull up so you don't hit the ship you are tring to blow up.
If you can't get on a mutiplayer game just click on the multiplayer button, then click on the green update button, and double click on a game to join. It's as easy as that.
To blow up a tank when you are in a tank, you have to move, don't stay in the same place, and try to hit him in the side for a lot of damage or hit him in the back for a total kill (you'll blow up the tank in one shot if you hit a him in the back no matter what his health is), also, if you are ready to blow up get the hell out before th tank blows.
How is Battlefield Vietnam?
A cool thing to do in Capture the Flag is to go in a jeep and have another guy lay down on the jeep,don't go in the jeep just lay down, and drive right by the enemy flag, DON'T STOP, and the guy laying down will pick up the flag, the enemy will be very surpised. You can do the same thing if you are in a plane and someone is on the wing you can fly right by the flag and the guy will pick it up. It is so fun to do!
Here is some advice, don't ever use the sniper or the assualt. Sniper, it has a very slow rate of fire and you might get 3 kills before someone finds you and then you are fucked because the guy probably has an assualt rifle or a madic gun. Assualt, they don't have medic supplies.
Two of the best kits are the medic and engineer. Medic, you have medic supplies and a submachinegun, what is better than that. Engineer, you have the sniper rifle, except for the scope, exp packs, and mines, also what is better than that. I get so many kills with the engineer gun. Then, there are the mines for the oncoming jeeps and for the tanks. The exp packs are great for Capture the Flag and riging planes, jeeps, and tanks.
Bazookas are kind of good, but I don't use them because they are glitchy in some levels. You will be right in front of someone and you will shot them with a fuckin' rocket and they get NO damage. What the fuck is up with that?

alright, big problem here.
i have been playing battlefield, and the disc worked and all, but all the sudden when i play, i cant move up, down, or side to side, and i cant shoot my gun or change my weapons. Everything else works, i can talk, radio, spin around, but not walk or shoot. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME!
Hey, i got a minor problem, when i try to connect to multiplayer games online i just cant connect to the servers the people are running, any advice?
Some help for sniper-Noobs,cause it can be really hard to master sniping when you are starting BF 1942;You have to "lead" the bullet when people are moving if you want to hit them.Also,always try to go for the headshot,cause you only got 15 bullets.If you practice hard enough and know were the good-sniping spots are,you can even score more points then assaults or medics.Remember:Always crouch or crawl when you snipe,otherwise you cant aim properly,After you sniped a guy,move to another position.He could get very angry after you sniped him a couple of times and decides to search you up and gets some payback.
HIDOI,try to update your version,cause most servers have the latest version.
If this is not the problem maybe some servers are full,or password protected,or dont have punkbuster enabled.Most serves do have punkbuster so this shouldnt be a problem.
Also check your internet connection.
The best advice i can give is to update your version and when in BF,click refresh and then update.Then you should have a list with al available severs.Servers in GREEN are acessable.Servers in GREY have another version so you cant enter those servers.

Hey i just got BF 1942 and both exspansions and i was wondering if the campaigne was different with the expsansions because i beat the BF 1942 but then the campaighn erased so does it have different lvls thanks
Hey I was also wondering what it does when u call for artillery with the binoculars does that call it even if no one is manning an artillery. I also was wondering if anyone knows how to confront tanks i cant seem to win if they come with 2 tanks and kill all of my guys and i hate being a bazooka dude what should i do.

People manning artillary will be able to right click and see from your point of view and get aiming assistance.
One shot aimed right at the rear of a Tiger will blow it up. It's their one weakness :)
Hi,ive recently got bf1942 adn i want to play online mut every single time i prees the green severs it says canot conect to sever why.
I know how to make exploding jeeps. here are the steps:
1. Spawn engineer
2. Get a jeep (axis is usually better)
3. put expacks (all of them is easier) into the back of the jeep.
4. get out that detonater!
5. Drive into enemy territory and speed it towards an enemy tank or armor or something
6. get out, run and detonate!
7. blows up the jeep and all around it
8. great for large packs of enemies and/or team killing
i cant find the sub in the game is there even one?
